Good ideas

I keep a folder of photos with scenes around Tainan that are particular clever, i.e. "'good ideas". Here are the first five.

Whether you are a car, scooter or pedestrian, running into a fire hydrant is going to hurt. Here we have a custom fire hydrant bumper made out of an old used motorcycle tire. Like those are scarce in Taiwan.

Rather than a Vacancy/No Vacancy sign on the Hotel, this Hotel in the NCKU district let's you know exactly how many rooms are free. How many times have you checked a Hotel only to be told the only room left is a smoker's room?

A lot of advertisement goes up as banners, but how to keep the banner visible in the wind? Again there's no shortage of plastic water bottles.

At the the Golden Eternal Fort the walkway were kept in place and nonslippery with these honeycomb mats. Small size

And the big size.

What clever ideas! I love your pictures. I'm going to be watching out for good ideas in Bellevue. For some reason, I'm not sure I'll find as many as you. It takes new eyes to spot them. Someone from a different culture would have an easier time. I could probably report clever ideas from my cooking classes at PCC, though. I almost always learn one or two per class.

The vacancy number is for the parking. Parking is scarce in Taiwan. But it is good idea to apply it to the hotel vacancy. Number is always easier to comprehend than adjective description. It is just like traffic light. If I know I have two second left, than I can walk faster or wait until next one.
Yes, you have good observant eyes. You are the one who always spot the money on the ground.
